چکیده:

Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) is currently being investigated because of its potential to produce ultra-fine grained microstructures in metallic alloys. In addition, recently particles reinforced and lamellar composites have been the subject of ECAP processing to study mechanical behavior. Flow behavior of material during plastic deformation including strain distribution and inhomogeneity are complicate and affected by the relationships between intrinsic material properties and processing factors like die geometry. Several ways have been employed for flow pattern characterization such as image analysis, hardness tests, physical modeling and simulation. This work is a novel research to study deformation features of Al matrix composite, reinforced by longitudinal iron based (20% Cr-30%Ni) fibers. In addition, the composite provides a very good opportunity to characterize flow pattern of ECAP in route A. The fibers in the longitude section of the first pass sample clearly depicted the flow pattern with two 90 degree bending as a consequence of shear while the sample after 2 passes shows several different bending patterns, along with turbulence of matrix in between fibers
